Mill Accountancy Ltd is owned and run by Gillian Mill FCCA. We opened in 2011 when she left a local firm to branch out on her own.
In August 2011, we moved into the Retford Enterprise Centre, then due to further expansion in March 2016 we left to set up our own office space, based on Amelia Court in Hallcroft
We have grown substantially in the 5 years we have been in business and currently employ 5 staff catering for all our clients’ needs. We are proud of the fact that 90% of our new clients come to us following recommendations from existing clients. We hope to be able to continue this growth with our 3 year plan whilst continuing to provide tailored and friendly business support.

We specialise in creating personalised and easy to understand financial remedies for everyone. Whether you’re a person looking for a bit of advice or a company considering your options we are here for you.

Our Staff Members
Mill Accountancy Ltd is owned and run by Gillian Mill FCCA. Gillian qualified as an accountant in 1998 while working in Kent and moved to Retford in 2001 to work for a local practice. Two years later, in 2003, she became a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and eventually left the practice on good terms to form Mill Accountancy Ltd.
Gillian is married with two grown-up children. Outside of her professional life she is a qualified Field Archery Coach and competitive field archer and owns a horse called Simon. Most free time is spent riding her horse or at archery competitions with her husband. One day she may even combine the two!
In 2012, Gillian’s daughter, Stephanie Mill, joined the firm full time, having completed her A Levels. Steph is currently working her way through her Chartered Certified Accountancy exams with a view to becoming a fully qualified accountant. Steph also takes on all responsibilities of managing the office and day to day running of the business.
Outside of work Steph is devoted to animals, she has a dog named Rosie, and if Steph is in the office Rosie usually is too, and her coop of 3 chickens, Daisy, Doris and Delilah. She also loves horse riding and is busy planning her wedding.
Linda joined us in July 2015 to provide bookkeeping services for our clients. Having retired from the civil service too come join us, she has several years’ experience bookkeeping for her husband’s business. Her experiences in the civil service and her bookkeeping knowledge make her a valuable addition to our team.
Outside of work Linda and her husband are busy renovating an old property alongside various family commitments. Linda looks forward to having time to holiday in the family touring caravan… one day!
Stephen is Gillian’s Husband and an experienced bookkeeper and accounts administrator, Stephen left a local production company to join us in February 2016. He can turn his hand to anything from office administration to producing first drafts of accounts to be reviewed.
Outside of work Stephen is an Archery Coach and competitive Field archer. When having a day off from archery he can usually be found in the kitchen cooking up something delicious for the family.
Helen joined us in March 2017 to provide payroll services for our clients. Having spent 29 years working for a high street bank in a variety of roles she has plenty of experience with business finance and customer care. After being made redundant Helen decided to embark on a new challenge and joined our team.
Helen is married with two football mad boys, she spends a lot of her weekends on the side-lines of wet and muddy football pitches. As well as looking after the three boys, Helen also has chickens and guinea pigs to look after. Any spare time in the summer is spent camping, where Helen tries to get some peace and quiet!!
Rosie is a 5-year-old Pointer X. She was adopted by Steph and her partner in 2013 and has loved living the high life ever since. She worked very hard in her career and now holds the role of office receptionist, usually first to the door, she loves a good ear scratch and belly rub. She is also a registered Pets As therapy dog and visits local hospices to give out cuddles and kisses (even when there not asked for).
Outside of work Rosie is passionate about chasing rabbits (she’s doesn’t catch up though), eating treats and running alongside the horses. Once all this is done she can be found sleeping, just about anywhere.
